It’s Easter Saturday, and I genuinely don’t know what to do with myself at home today.
Yesterday was a productive one. Lots of housework, including multiple loads of washing and cleaning the bathrooms. I folded clothes, my husband sprayed outside to clean the concrete, and then we all went for a ride.
I bribed my son to ride the long way with a Boost Juice, which absolutely worked, and I’d do it again. He spent over an hour in the saddle, which is his longest ride yet. We’re slowly building up to the day we can all ride to the beach together. That’ll be a good day.
On the ride, we stopped at a park, and then rode through the nearby Uni. My biggest highlight was seeing the kangaroos – I always love to see them, and this time we even got to see a mama with a joey in her pouch!
I did spend a bit of time on the blog yesterday, too. Other than my body image post, I spent some time changing the theme up. It’s a bit easier on the eye now, and in my opinion, a bit more interesting to look at. If you’ve been here before, you might notice it looks a little different. Hopefully in a good way!
Which leads me to today.
This morning, we hit the markets early, our usual Saturday morning tradition.
We picked up a heap of new veggies and herbs for the garden, my husband got his favourite satay breakfast, my son got his regular fruit ice cream treat, and afterwards, I grabbed a coffee from Pioneer Coffee. Afterwards, a trip to Bunnings (Hammerbarn for the Blueys fans) for some sugar cane mulch, Aldi to look around and some cheap moisturiser, then home again.
Right now, my husband’s out in the garden. My son is up the street at a mate’s place. And I’m sitting here at home like… now what?
My planner is done. Lettering practice ticked off. There’s a bit of general tidying to get through before guests arrive tonight, but nothing urgent.
Which leaves me here, talking to the void.
I’ve already read the news, or skimmed it at least, because honestly, no one needs to dwell in that shit show.
So, the options in front of me…
I could do a workout. The bike’s right there. I could sit on the couch and read. There are a few craft projects I’ve been meaning to get to, nothing with a deadline, but they’ve been sitting in the back of my mind. I’ve been wanting to put together a Capsule Wardrobe Look Book in my bullet journal for ages (one of my 52s for this year). Or I could make some fancy name tags for the Easter gifts we’ve got sitting around.
I think I just need to write the list and pick one. Stop writing about it aimlessly, and just do it.
So that’s what I’m going to go do now.
Happy Easter, everyone. Hope your Saturday has a little more direction than mine started with.
