Legs Cooked, Arms Useless, Badge Incoming

Ah… Saturday morning. The temptation to just hang around in your pyjamas instead of doing the workout you’re meant to be doing.

Or maybe that’s just me.

The boys have headed off to the markets, I’ve just booked some flights for a trip later in the year, and I’ve got a hair appointment to get to shortly. There is absolutely no logical reason to be sitting here writing a blog post right now.

And yet.

The cycling badge is trying to kill me

So Anyway, February Chose Violence

One of my 52 in 52 goals this year is to earn an iFit badge every month, either on my treadmill or my indoor bike.

January felt very achievable.

And then February hit.

Bloody hell.

Last month was six sessions on the bike and eight on the treadmill. Easily doable. I knocked them over in a couple of weeks by alternating workouts, throwing in rest days, and sometimes just counting a dog walk as enough for the day.

Not February.

February iFit Challenge

The February challenge is called “Beat the Clock”.

You have the month of February to complete 150 minutes of activity each week. That’s five workouts per week, already curated for you and waiting in the Challenge

The running dream is over

Well, today wasn’t exactly a good day. I’ve been on a running hiatus after an injury suffered while training for my first marathon in 2024. After a year off, gaining weight, losing weight, and easing in to pilates to work on my strength, I booked in to see my physio and with the hopse of working towards running again.

Long story short, I’m not running again.

But let’s rewind.

How did I get here

In 2009, while playing netball, I tore my right ACL and damaged my meniscus.

Fun fact – the first doctor I saw ignored my knee, told me to take shark fin oil and lose some weight. If you’re thinking “what the actual f**k” right now, well, yeah, me too.…
