August Gratitude Day 10: The Funniest Thing I Heard Today

Im trying something different tonight. I’m dictating this blog post into my phone to see if I can speed up the process a bit. We’re having a quiet one tonight, but I’m on a 10 day posting streak now, and didn’t want to miss one.

Today’s daily gratitude prompt from The Optimistic Muse was:

The funniest thing I heard all day.

This one was easy.

I received an online order today that I placed a few weeks ago for new stickers. I know, I know. I do not need more stickers. Doesn’t stop me from buying them though.

I was proudly telling my son they’d arrived and asked if he wanted to see them.

Do you know what his response was?

“Can I fart on them?”

Why do you want to fart on them? I asked.

“So they smell for you.”

I do not want scratch and sniff stickers that smell like my son’s fart.

I said thanks, but no thanks.

Why is it always farts with boys? Is that just where the brain goes first, every single time?

And then I started thinking about it. Would there even be a market for fart-smelling stickers? Where would you even use them?

Actually… you could hide them in places. Slip one under someone’s desk. Tuck one inside a drawer. Pop one in a lunchbox.

Hang on. We might be coming up with a business opportunity here.

On a workday, Monday of all days, with raging mondayitis, this was by far the funniest thing I’d heard all day.

I appreciate the generosity, but this is very much the time when sharing is not caring.

Has your son ever offered to give you such a kind gift? Have you ever had a crazy business idea?
