Sarcastic planner stickers (because sometimes you just need a rude one)

This week my dog killed a possum.

I know, I know, but I swear it’s relevant to my story.

It was midnight, I was asleep, and suddenly there were grunting and banging sounds outside the bedroom window. I made my husband get up and attempt a rescue mission. He was too late. Not great for the possum, not great for my sleep, not great for the husband who got voluntold at midnight.

This latest episode of shit sleep has been on top of the usual perimenopause sleep chaos, plus a sore shoulder and a dodgy stomach thrown in for fun this week.

Yesterday I was so exhausted I ended up calling it at 10.30am and taking the day off work. In an effort to sleep better last night, I had a magnesium and lavender bath at 6.30pm, chamomile and honey tea (not sure I like that combination, to be honest), and was in bed by 8.

So how is this relevant?

Because I blame my crap sleep entirely for the stickers I bought online last week.

Bad sleep means more stickers

My sticker collection was running low, and I wanted some new options to select from each morning.

At the end of last week I went online shopping and bought new stickers.

Yes, I got some more positive nice ones, but I also bought 150 highly sarcastic and rude stickers.

And they’re hilarious.

I won’t lie, there’s a part of me that wonders if I should have bought these. If I should be quoting something sarcastic each morning, instead of the positive ones.

But damn if I don’t love a good sarcastic quote.

Here’s a small sampling of the new stickers I got, both positive and sarcastic.

On the left are my positive stickers, on the right are the rude ones

I had so much fun going through them all. Some notable ones that quickly became favourites:

  • One mental breakdown later
  • Back & body hurt
  • It’s fine, I’m fine, everything’s fine (with a picture of a cat that is clearly not fine)
  • Hang in there, it gets worse
  • I’m sorry, did I roll my eyes out loud?
  • Caution, may offend snowflakes

So now I suppose I can choose a sticker based on whether I’m feeling positive that day, or a bit passive-aggressive.

Today, given how tired I am, I selected “Friday is my second favourite F-word”.

My planner also includes places for daily gratitude and self-care, so it’s still a positive place…right?

Eh, there’s always room for sarcasm in my life.

Does anyone have a favourite quote they love – positive or sarcastic?
