Hoo boy, I stayed up late last night watching the State of Origin, and I’m pooped! I’ll be drinking all the coffee today.
For my international readers, the State of Origin is an Australian rugby league football series, best out of three games. It’s played state against state, Queensland vs New South Wales. Professional rugby league players are selected to play for the state where they played their first senior game. It’s arguably more important than the actual club Rugby League series. It’s divisive, and people are extremely passionate about their chosen state. The game has a lot of history, supposedly the first interstate game was played in 1908, and there has been fights, blood, sweat, and tears.
And so much banter.
Anyways, unfortunately my team, Queensland, lost last night in the final minute. It was a bloody exciting match though!
This morning I’m having a coffee, the first of many, and still trying to catch up on my blog reading.
I’ve got 62 unread posts to catch up on. I also try to post comments on the blogs I read, so if you know I read your blog, and I’m writing on something you posted weeks ago, sorry! I promise I’ll catch up at some point.
In other news, my NordicTrack indoor bike is broken. The console has died, so while I can still ride, I can’t actually see anything on the screen to start a session. That also means I can’t really increase the resistence either. So it’s just a stagnant, freewheeling, stationary bike right now. I contacted Nordictrack support and while they were super fast in their responses, and helpful, I’m just bummed to find out it’s going to cost $450 to get a new console.
Thing is, that bike has transformed my glutes and hamstrings. It’s made my legs so much stronger, and with bad knees it means I’m limited in my strength workouts, so there’s no weighted squats or lunges going on here.
My husband and I are discussing it, and while it hurts, I think ultimately we’re going to have to fork it out. I don’t want to part with the bike, and I can’t get the same results from my treadmill (I also don’t want to part with my treadmill either).
Thankfully I’ve already achieved my monthly iFit badge on the treadmill, which means my 52-in-52 goal to achieve an iFit badge every month is safe. iFit is the inbuilt program in my bike, that controls your workouts (including the resistance, it’s very cool) and you get little virtual badges for completing workout series.
Alright, time to get back to reading, try and get some my brain into gear, and start work for the day.
Here’s hoping Queensland take out Game 2 in a few weeks!
How do you manage keeping up with the blogs you follow? Do you have a piece of fitness equipment you’d genuinely be gutted to lose?

We are almost twinning. I have 69 unread posts in my reader, which includes blog posts and newsletters, so I can’t offer any advice. I’m finding it hard to keep up with regular blog posting at the moment as well. I have a backlog of posts I want to do.
The only fitness equipment we have is adjustable dumbbells, a yoga mat and therabands, and I run outside, so not much to go wrong.
Definitely can’t go wrong with that fitness equipment – that’s a good combination you’ve got going! (Super jealous about the running, really wish I could, blasted knee…)
I’ve been pushing hard to find quiet moments and I’ve managed to get my unread count under 30, which feels like a tremendous victory!
Yours is the only blog I read (with the exception of Katie’s when she posts on the rare occasion). You should feel honored. <3
I most definitely do, thank you!!
