Sunshine Coast Wine Expo + August Gratitude Catch-Up

Here I was, all proud of my blogging streak, and then I fell off the wagon quite a bit. It’s not that I didn’t want to write, but more that we had things on, and then I prioritised rest and sleep.

I’m still dealing with this sinus infection. The thing is, I feel ok, just exhausted. And my throat is absolutely trashed. We went to a wine expo on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, mainly because we had spent $80 per ticket for the two of us, and given that I wasn’t contagious, we didn’t want that going to waste.

So, I frocked up, straightened my hair, and off we went.

Five Things for Friday (vol. 7)

Header reading “Five Things for Friday (vol. 7)” over a partially completed jigsaw puzzle

It’s Friday, and here’s five things.

1: I’m having a bath

I could electrocute myself at any time but I’m living on the edge. Kidding.

Anyway, I’m still feeling yuk, so after sitting out by the fire with my husband for a bit, he kindly ran a bath for me to soak in. He even added scented Epsom salts, he’s so sweet.

I still feel blah tho. Thank god for cold and flu meds.

2: I started a puzzle this week

Whenever we go places and I see puzzles, I want to stop everything I’m doing just to get a piece in. It’s just so dang enticing!

When I visited a friend last weekend I took a puzzle with me but we didn’t end up doing it.…

Daily Gratitude Days 12 and 13: Japan Wands and Perfectly Imperfect

Wah! It looks like I’ve finally caught the lurgy that’s been going around Australia recently. It’s been a pretty rough winter for colds and flus, and I’d managed to escape it so far. Last night I felt tired, so instead of blogging, I made our bed with fresh sheets and went to bed early.

This morning I woke up feeling a bit yuk. L and I spent the morning working on a jigsaw puzzle before school, and after dropping him off, I pushed through and got my workout done on the bike. This afternoon I realised I was tired, my throat hurt, and my eyes were dry and hot. I went to talk to my husband about something and bam, my voice was going.…

August Gratitude Day 10: The Funniest Thing I Heard Today

Header reading “August Gratitude Day 10: The funniest thing I heard today” over colourful Bitcoin stickers

Im trying something different tonight. I’m dictating this blog post into my phone to see if I can speed up the process a bit. We’re having a quiet one tonight, but I’m on a 10 day posting streak now, and didn’t want to miss one.

Today’s daily gratitude prompt from The Optimistic Muse was:

The funniest thing I heard all day.

This one was easy.

I received an online order today that I placed a few weeks ago for new stickers. I know, I know. I do not need more stickers. Doesn’t stop me from buying them though.

I was proudly telling my son they’d arrived and asked if he wanted to see them.

Do you know what his response was?…

August Gratitude Day 9: Something to thank myself for

Header reading “August Gratitude Day 9: Something to thank myself for” over an open weekly planner

In my last gratitude post, I talked about feeling most content when, amongst other things, I’ve done a few things on a Sunday night to make myself feel “on top of it”. Doing my weekly plan every Sunday night is a fundamental part of that. It’s nice to know what’s coming up and make sure I’m prepared!

Luckily for me, today’s gratitude prompt lined up with my Sunday night planning, so I decided to share my weekly planning process.

Do one small thing that will make your life easier tomorrow.

Planner Layout

To be specific, I use a Saint Belford Curate Daily Planner. It sold out for 2026, and the 2027 versions are being released later this month. So, here’s the link to the 2026 version if you want to take a look.…
