Last week, I started a new blog theme called Monday Mentions where I share some of the personal blogs I’ve discovered around the internet.
It’s been so refreshing to discover new blogs again. I’d really missed it, just hearing about the everyday things, what’s been going on in other people’s lives, those little ‘me too!’ moments. A little less lonely, you know?
(And now I’m singing “A little less conversation, a little more action please”. Great reminder for me to get onto the point of this post, actually…ahem).
So here’s another batch of Monday Mentions – personal blogs I’ve been loving lately.
- Girl in a Boy House – Nicole’s blog title instantly called to me, being the only female in this house of males (including our dog!) To steal from Nicole’s “About Me” page, she is a yoga teacher, a mom, a former economist, an avid gardener, a cardio enthusiast, a lover of wine and books, and a person who tries to find joy and beauty in all things. I’ve been trying to practice more gratitude every day, and really appreciate Nicole’s take on things, remembering to just look around and appreciate what we have. She’s also encouraging me to become a crazy plant lady (I’m still struggling to make sure I don’t kill my first serious attempt at keeping a plant alive).
- Dotliv – I discovered Dot Liv on the Reddit r/blogging sub, where they explained their site as “mostly short, honest posts about overthinking, small thoughts that feel huge, and the general chaos of having a brain that refuses to chill.” If you know me, you know I’m a huge overthinker, and so many of these posts I think “yep, same!” It’s thought-provoking in a good way. I get so much out of my own blogging when I use it to process my thoughts, and it’s refreshing to read someone else’s journey for a change.
- The Bloggess – I somehow feel late to the game in discovering this site. I love the humour, the stories, and everything about it. I love the about page, which starts with “if you are offended easily, you’re in the wrong place.” I love that if you send her a bad marketing pitch, she will send you to a page that has Wil Wheaton collating paper. Seriously, it’s a thing(Wil is an actor and internet legend). Jenny’s site is fantastic, and I highly recommend you become a late adopter with me.
So that’s it for this week.
As I write this, I have 118 unread blog posts to read in Feedly (including some sites I’ve newly subscribed to and want to get more familiar with), and about 5 more tabs open with new blogs I saw the link for and haven’t had a chance to look around at yet. I’ve also got a list of 7 more sites in my notepad.
And I love it.
I’ve clearly got more room for more, so if you have any recommendations for other blogs, please share them. Especially if you’ve found any good ones hiding on Reddit or in the corners of the internet!

Kelly! Thanks so much for the shoutout! xo
Of course, I love your blog so much! x
Pip’s blog is delightful. She mainly has posts she calls dailies where she tells what she did on her days. https://meetmeatmikes.com/
Another Aussie blogger! That’s fantastic, thanks for the recommendation. I’m checking it out now.
