Alcohol ink art at Little Sister, Eudlo (I have a problem)

This weekend some friends, my mother and I went to another art class on the Sunshine Coast. Last time we learned how to make paper roses. This time, it was to learn how to use alcohol ink, a craft technique I haven’t tried yet.

And to the surprise of no one, now I want to buy some and make all the things at home.

It’s so incredibly beautiful, unique every time, and a whole lot of fun. I actually feel like this would be a fun activity with kids, but knowing them, it would turn pretty messy pretty quickly. So um, maybe not.

Where we went: Little Sister, Eudlo

The class was hosted at Little Sister, based in Eudlo, on the Sunshine Coast.…

My mum, my childhood, and a conversation I’ll keep forever

Last weekend was Mother’s Day, and this year I found I got a bit reflective. As I go further in my own parenting journey, and what highlights and challenges it brings, it’s made me think about my own upbringing.

I’ve found that becoming a mother has made me understand my mother a lot more. Why she made the decisions she did, or what coping mechanisms she used. How she could have possibly felt after a day at work, only to come home to three children.

How desperately she needed a break, and never got it.

The pressure of parenting

Parenting is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I’m so conscious of how every word I say, and the actions I take, how that will be interpreted by my son.…

Doing Dip Nails at Home (DIY using GLAMRDiP)

A few of you asked about my dip nails after my last post, so I thought I’d write a dedicated post about them.

I’ve been doing dip polish since roughly October 2024.

Some of my random efforts. They even have glow-in-the-dark ones!

It started because I’m a nail-biter. Anxiety chewing, basically. Years ago, I’d started using nail polish as a way to stop, but it really bugged me that it would chip after a few days.

Then the good ol’ social media algorithm got me, and I started seeing ads for Glamrdip. I also saw some for another company, Sistaco, but after a friend at work told me they had used their kit and had the same problem with easy chipping, I quickly moved away from them.…

The dress, the downpour, and the Nutbush

You guys…I forgot how long it takes to truly get frocked up.

It was my cousin’s wedding yesterday, and honestly, between the getting ready, the ceremony, the reception, and the dancing until my shoes came off, there’s a lot to cover. Including the dress reveal I’ve been teasing for a few posts now, and my favourite Australian wedding traditions!

The Pre-Game

It started on Thursday, with the all over fake tan. Normally, I just tan my legs because they’re typically translucent, to the point that at night with a bit of moonlight, I’m sure they would almost glow in the dark.

This was the first time in years that I’ve done all over. Once it was done, I basically spent the next 24 hours stressing that it was too dark, and having people remind me I don’t look like Donald Trump.…
